Students are always in need of assistance so we are always looking for qualified educators to join our team. Our team sets their own schedules and uses the tools and materials they prefer in their lessons. We use parent and teacher feedback, and individualized assessments to drive our instruction.

We are looking for a team member who can fulfill the following criteria:

• Has a valid teaching certificate in the state of Georgia.
• Has at least 3 years of classroom experience.
• Has Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Fundations, or other similar phonics-based structured language training, especially if teaching PreK-2nd grade.
• Can communicate effectively with Smarty Pants admin and parents in a timely manner.
• Has experience teaching students with learning differences including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, ASD, etc. Special Education experience is a bonus.
• Is able to regularly commute to intown Atlanta and/or Decatur to conduct 45-60 minute long sessions.
• Is able to fill a roster of at least 2 students, once or twice a week each.
• Can pass a background check and provide 3 professional references.

Our students need teachers who will take the time to get to know them and what makes them tick, how they learn best, and be patient, flexible, and adaptable. Buy-in is our number one priority – we need tutors who can make learning fun and accessible.

You will be expected to utilize a scheduling and record taking software that Smarty Pants will set you up with upon hiring. Part of your responsibilities will be to record attendance and take lesson notes tracking students activities, challenges, and progress to be shared with parents and Smarty Pants administrators.
