Aimee Perkins is a 4th grade teacher and has been in education for 9 years. She taught in Mobile, Alabama; Denver, Colorado and currently in Atlanta, Georgia. She has a masters degree in Elementary Education which she obtained from the University of South Alabama. Aimee prides herself on building relationships with her students in order for them to feel welcome and successful. She was recently named 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year at her school. She believes that educating young minds and seeing how much they grow from start to finish makes it all worth it.

Alesha is a dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience in the field of education. She has served in various roles, including teacher, academic coach, and coordinator, with a specialization in grades K-6. Alesha holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Georgia State University, a Master's degree from the University of West Georgia with endorsements and ESOL certifications, and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kennesaw State University. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Curriculum from Columbus State University. Alesha is passionate about building strong and positive relationships with her students and is committed to supporting academic growth by tailoring her approach to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.

Chelsea is a former elementary school teacher with ten years of experience teaching first, second, and third grade. She currently manages a nonprofit coffee house that employs adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has 100 hours of Orton Gillingham training and is passionate about teaching phonics to students with reading difficulties. She is also gifted certified and has spent three years teaching special education students. While reading is her passion she also enjoys tutoring students in math. She believes in using a multi-sensory approach when tutoring. She has a big heart for those with unique challenges and loves helping others.

Christina has been teaching elementary school for almost a decade. She was born and raised in New York and got a bachelor's degree in Childhood Education with a minor in athletic coaching. She completed her master's degree in Literacy Education to become a reading teacher. She is enrolled at Georgia State University to receive my Leadership Administrative certification, Gifted Endorsement, and K-5 Math Endorsement. Her goal is to be able to help other educators and students. She looks forward to working with students and helping their learning grow.

She holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and an Educational Specialist degree in the field, showcasing her commitment to academic excellence. As a lifelong learner, Christina has earned advanced certifications in upper elementary literacy instruction, refining her skills to support diverse student needs. Isaac is a dedicated math educator with 35 years of teaching experience, including 25 years at a middle-high school in Metro Atlanta, GA. He also spent a decade teaching Mathematics and Physics in international schools, specializing in the Cambridge IGCSE framework. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics Education, Teaching and Learning from Georgia State University. He is passionate about designing and creating engaging math activities and games that foster a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts among students. Beyond the classroom, he coordinates the mathematics curriculum for a tuition-free summer program in Metro Atlanta, which offers students from limited-income backgrounds enriching academic, cultural, and community-based opportunities.

Emily Wilson has 6 years of experience as a classroom teacher in grades 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. In addition to her K-5 Teaching Certification, she has a Gifted Endorsement and is certified to teach Middle Grades Reading (6-8). Emily also received an M.Ed. in Language and Literacy in 2021 to accompany her B.S. in Elementary Education. She strives to instill a love of learning each session, and guides each child to reach their full academic potential.

F'iona Johnson is a certified English Language Arts instructor who has taught grades six through twelve in both public and private institutions. She has adaptability with helping students demonstrate academic excellence through problem solving and critical thinking skills. She has worked with English language learners and students who were multiple years below grade level. She has a heart for helping students who are struggling with academics and makes every student feel loved.

Ivy Ford is a passionate and purposeful educator with 13 years of experience teaching English Language Arts. Ivy has experience teaching middle and high school, with added experience tutoring students in grades K-12. Ivy is a certified Reading teacher, with added certifications in teaching ESOL and Gifted Learners. Ivy also holds a certificate of Dyslexia Studies from the Dyslexia Training Institute. Jocerlyn Hickson is currently in her fourteenth year of teaching all subjects, with a focus on Mathematics. Her background includes instructing elementary and middle school students in both traditional and alternative environments including developing, implementing, and instructing math programs, classes, and training. Jocerlyn believes that each child is a unique individual that needs a caring, secure, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially and she aims to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.

Julie (JJ) Imperatori is a certified associate of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners with twelve years of tutoring experience in OG, reading and writing. She has also taught in grades 1-5 in both public and private schools. She holds Master’s degrees in English and Teaching. She works with your child at your location on your schedule in order to make tutoring as convenient as possible. She takes into account the unique personality of your child, using that information to help move forward academically. She has raised six children of her own, including one daughter who overcame dyslexia and is now attending college.

MJ Parker has over 20 years as a proven educator in private and public schools in Florida, Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. She possesses a wealth of experience with the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) trained in Primary Years Programme (PYP) & Middle Years Programme (MYP). Extensive knowledge of Writer’s Workshop and cultivating strong writers. Ms. Parker is also dual certified in Elementary grades K-5 and Middle Grades 6-8 with concentrations in: Middle Grades ELA, Middle Grades Social Studies & and Middle Grades Science. She prides herself on building a rapport with her students and building a child’s academic confidence!

Paige Turner is a retired teacher of 32 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, and her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University. In addition, Paige completed 100 hours of Orton-Gillingham training. Paige taught Kindergarten for 13 years, French, Physical Education, and PreK. Paige and Anne worked together at the Woodward Academy Primary School. Paige’s love of language, young children, and her friendship with Anne led her to Smarty Pants.

With a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T) in Elementary Education, coupled with an ESOL endorsement and ongoing pursuit of a Dyslexia endorsement, Saba brings a wealth of expertise to the realm of education. Her academic background has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of teaching methodologies and strategies tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Having taught both Pre-K and First Grade, Saba has had the privilege of nurturing young minds at critical stages of their educational journey. Her true passion lies in teaching students how to read. Stephanie (Steph) Byrd has over 10 years experience in early childhood and special education. She holds teaching certifications, a master’s degree and is working towards her doctorate in early childhood and elementary education. She is passionate about creating fun, individualized and meaningful learning experiences for children that help them to connect, access and find joy in their learning experiences!

Prior to moving to Atlanta a few years ago, Terra was an elementary school teacher in Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. She holds a Masters Degree in elementary teaching and is passionate about inspiring students to develop a lifelong love of learning. She believes that children should always be active participants in their learning and that starts with engaging lessons. She currently provides tutoring for K-3 math and upper elementary reading comprehension skills.

Over ten years of her career was in middle school, teaching reading and language arts to students learning English. Currently she works as a math coach in an elementary school. She holds multiple advanced degrees and is committed to having a positive impact on students. As a tutor her goal is to build your child’s confidence as a reader by teaching them to decode, print and comprehend text. Her creative mind is an asset to keep children engaged.
