Abigail Bowes

Abigail Bowes has been both a General Education teacher (2-5) and a Special Education Teacher (6-8) since 2004. She currently holds teacher certification in Utah, Florida, and Georgia. Abigail has taught in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Utah, and now Georgia. She holds masters degrees in both Elementary Education and Special Education. Abigail believes that reading is extremely fundamental to learning and a critical foundation for learning all subjects, including math. She further believes that math has important cultural relevance and that a student’s attitude toward math and reading holds the key to unlocking learning. Abigail uses her teaching to help students experience how learning can take them places and enjoy unimaginable experiences in all parts of the world, even above the canopy of the Brazilian rainforest (true story).
Alesha Harris

Alesha is a dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience in the field of education. She has served in various roles, including teacher, academic coach, and coordinator, with a specialization in grades K-6. Alesha holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Georgia State University, a Master's degree from the University of West Georgia with endorsements and ESOL certifications, and a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Kennesaw State University. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Curriculum from Columbus State University. Alesha is passionate about building strong and positive relationships with her students and is committed to supporting academic growth by tailoring her approach to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.
Chelsea Cohen

Chelsea is a former elementary school teacher with ten years of experience teaching first, second, and third grade. She currently manages a nonprofit coffee house that employs adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has 100 hours of Orton Gillingham training and is passionate about teaching phonics to students with reading difficulties. She is also gifted certified and has spent three years teaching special education students. While reading is her passion she also enjoys tutoring students in math. She believes in using a multi-sensory approach when tutoring. She has a big heart for those with unique challenges and loves helping others.
Christina Malcangi

Christina has been teaching elementary school for almost a decade. She was born and raised in New York and got a bachelor's degree in Childhood Education with a minor in athletic coaching. She completed her master's degree in Literacy Education to become a reading teacher. She is enrolled at Georgia State University to receive my Leadership Administrative certification, Gifted Endorsement, and K-5 Math Endorsement. Her goal is to be able to help other educators and students. She looks forward to working with students and helping their learning grow.

As a lifelong learner, Christina has earned advanced certifications in upper elementary literacy instruction, refining her skills to support diverse student needs. Colin Nolte

Colin Nolte is an experienced and caring elementary educator entering her tenth year of teaching. She has worked with students from kindergarten through 4th grade in dual language immersion schools across China, Spain, and Atlanta—including five wonderful years at The GLOBE Academy here in Atlanta. Colin is certified with endorsements in ESOL and Gifted Education and has training in the Orton-Gillingham approach. She loves helping students build confidence, master challenging skills, and discover joy in learning. As both a classroom teacher and tutor, Colin focuses on connecting with each child, understanding what motivates them, and creating a positive, encouraging environment where they can thrive. She believes that every child can take ownership of their learning and feel proud of their growth and accomplishments.

Emily Wilson has 6 years of experience as a classroom teacher in grades 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. In addition to her K-5 Teaching Certification, she has a Gifted Endorsement and is certified to teach Middle Grades Reading (6-8). Emily also received an M.Ed. in Language and Literacy in 2021 to accompany her B.S. in Elementary Education. She strives to instill a love of learning each session, and guides each child to reach their full academic potential.
F’iona Johnson

F'iona Johnson is a certified English Language Arts instructor who has taught grades six through twelve in both public and private institutions. She has adaptability with helping students demonstrate academic excellence through problem solving and critical thinking skills. She has worked with English language learners and students who were multiple years below grade level. She has a heart for helping students who are struggling with academics and makes every student feel loved.
Jocerlyn Hickson

Jocerlyn Hickson is currently in her fourteenth year of teaching all subjects, with a focus on Mathematics. Her background includes instructing elementary and middle school students in both traditional and alternative environments including developing, implementing, and instructing math programs, classes, and training. Jocerlyn believes that each child is a unique individual that needs a caring, secure, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially and she aims to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.

MJ Parker

MJ Parker has over 20 years as a proven educator in private and public schools in Florida, Georgia and the United Arab Emirates. She possesses a wealth of experience with the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) trained in Primary Years Programme (PYP) & Middle Years Programme (MYP). Extensive knowledge of Writer’s Workshop and cultivating strong writers. Ms. Parker is also dual certified in Elementary grades K-5 and Middle Grades 6-8 with concentrations in: Middle Grades ELA, Middle Grades Social Studies & and Middle Grades Science. She prides herself on building a rapport with her students and building a child’s academic confidence!
Paige Turner

Paige Turner is a retired teacher of 32 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University, and her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University. In addition, Paige completed 100 hours of Orton-Gillingham training. Paige taught Kindergarten for 13 years, French, Physical Education, and PreK. Paige and Anne worked together at the Woodward Academy Primary School. Paige’s love of language, young children, and her friendship with Anne led her to Smarty Pants.
Patrice Skipper

Patrice Skipper is a recently retired educator with more than 28 years experience. She taught her entire career in the Atlanta Public School System. She has a Masters Degree in Reading Instruction, which she obtained from Central Michigan University. She also has a Specialist Degree in Supervision and Administration from Lincoln Memorial University. Patrice brings a wealth of experience in curriculum development, and individualized instruction. With strong communication skills, and a commitment to learning, she continues to inspire growth and excellence in every setting she engages with.
Terra Andrews

Prior to moving to Atlanta a few years ago, Terra was an elementary school teacher in Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. She holds a Masters Degree in elementary teaching and is passionate about inspiring students to develop a lifelong love of learning. She believes that children should always be active participants in their learning and that starts with engaging lessons. She currently provides tutoring for K-3 math and upper elementary reading comprehension skills.

Meet Terri Lewis, an educator with over 20 years of vast teaching experience. She is certified to teach K-5 and middle school reading. She has taught multilingual language learners, and participated in cultural immersion programs abroad. She has completed Orton Gillingham training and her dyslexia endorsement. Over ten years of her career was in middle school, teaching reading and language arts to students learning English. Currently she works as a math coach in an elementary school. She holds multiple advanced degrees and is committed to having a positive impact on students. As a tutor her goal is to build your child’s confidence as a reader by teaching them to decode, print and comprehend text. Her creative mind is an asset to keep children engaged.
