Students are always in need of assistance so we are always looking for qualified educators to join our team. Our team sets their own schedules and uses the tools and materials they prefer in their lessons. We use parent and teacher feedback, and individualized assessments to drive our instruction.

All team members must:

• have a valid teaching certificate in the state of Georgia
• have at least 3 years of classroom experience
• PreK-2 teachers must have training in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Fundations, or another similar phonics-based learning methodology
• communicate clearly and meet deadlines with students, parents, and Smarty Pants admin
• have experience in learning differences such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and/or special education experience is helpful to effectively teach the typical Smarty Pants student
• be able to commute to intown Atlanta/Decatur for 45 minute or hour long sessions
• be able to dedicate at least 4 hours per week and take on at least 2 students
• be able to pass a background check and provide 3 professional references

Our students need teachers who will take the time to get to know them and what makes them tick, how they learn best, and be patient, flexible, and adaptable. Buy-in is our number one priority – we need tutors who can make learning fun and accessible.

You will be expected to utilize a scheduling and record taking software that Smarty Pants will set you up with upon hiring. Part of your responsibilities will be to record attendance and take lesson notes tracking students activities, challenges, and progress to be shared with parents and Smarty Pants administrators.
